Nooooooooo, dont do it.

Get your original scuttle panel built up. Its about the same price after spraying etc. Plus, u can have it made how u want. I bought one, didn't fit well at all. There was a lot of trouble about it so i got my own original one built up. Looks much better, fits perfectly as well.

You havent got a clue mate.

Ok here goes actually for a 5 ltr tin of high build primer its 65 quid.

The minimum amount of paint u can buy is 1/2 ltr which is 15/20 quid.

Filler, again 5 litres, which u will need to of, 25 quid.

Christ Koni thats a bit high price aint it. Also how do you expect to get a colour match from mail order??

You dont need all that, cost about £10-£15 for a scuttle from my local scrappy aswell, good as new ones. Doenst matter if they are being filled and painted.

Over charging by a lot there pal.

Oh, thats weird, i thought smoothed scuttles cost 75 quid new?... correct, then u take to the bodyshop and they say... about 65 to paint and it fits absolutely terrible. Whereas im offering a scuttle that will fit perfectly and not look out of place or have huge gaps at each side of your wing, all this including paint mand postage.

How do i get colour match, well i start by hoping you can read the paint code from your car and then i hope that i can type the right paint code into the paint mix sceme. really difficult

A paint code is an exact representation of whats on your car... not rough, exact. If you tell me your corsa is 32l opel red then the paint we make is exactly the same colour as your car.

i know its the same colour but there can be diff shades. thats abit strange coz all the codes in our colour chips have slightly diff. shades of the colour on the car. thats why our painters have to find the code. then clean some of the car up and match the colour to the shade its nearer. even on a brand new car there can be differences in shades of 2 cars with the exact same paint code. I Think its the Autopaint chips we use. i am a panel beater but ill find out more 2moro from the painters. i thought that 2 and they explained it to me when i first started in there and we r a large respected bodyshop owned by a car dealer with 8 diff car franchises. so the painters do know what they r doing. but as i say ill find out more tomorrow.

I know what you mean, but this is only with various colours, cars and it differs from paint mix scheme to paint mix scheme. 9x out of 10 tho, the colour on the paint code can be identically matched over the phone... more on solids and with commom vehicles like opel, citreon, pug etc. But occasionally u get various shades for matching dull paint etc.

Koni is perfectly right.

The only problem i've had is its been built up 3 times (while at the bodyshop) cos the fillars sunk. Its drop in 3 tiny points now, but the bloke said that to me and he's gonna re-do it when she goes back.

Just a hint Koni, maybe you should cover the actual slits in the scuttle with something b4 filling it?

Pis of mine
