I have it for unemployment, not illness, costs me an extra £6 a month, would be estupid not to have it in this climate tbh unsless your 100% sure your jobs safe.

I pay about £13 a month for income protection..... if I come out of work I get £700 a month for up to 12 months.
I would also need to take a payment holiday from my mortgage if I got made redundant
