I've just had a Fibreglass bonnet fitted to the car. Can you still fit the gas bonnet lifters to one as i'm finding that they won't push down, obviously the bonnet is too light?
Does the safety catch need to go on it as well?

hmmm think you havent really looked into this properly....
i can imagine the gas struts if fitted may actually break the bonnet where there fixed due to the pressure.
and you will possibly need bonnet pins for the bonnet, unless theres something on the fibreglass bonnet to fit the latch
have you got any pics?

My fibreglass bonnet can't use the catchs and I have used aerocatches.
Some come with the abillity to reuse the catches.
If it doesn't then yes you with have to use either bonnet pins or aero catches.
And I wouldn't advise using bonnet lifters because as you say, there is no weight to the bonnet and strength/rigidity for pushing it down.

I knew I had to get bonnet pins for it but the chap I bought it from said the bonnet lifters would fit it but obviously doesn't cos like you said the bonnet will snap.
I just didn't know whether you had to fit that safety latch to it as well as the bonnet pins?

I'm in the process of fitting the bonnet pins to it, where can I get the aercatches from?

Cool thanks, it looks much better than the pins. Do they work in the same way as the pins? Can anyone still try to undo them like with the pins?

Oh yeah I see what you mean, thanks. So how do they lock, a screw or allen key or something like that?

Thanks for the help how many holes do you need to drill to fit the aerocatches? Only reason why I'm asking is I've just had the bonnet pins fitted!
