just a quick explanantion.
car doesn't rev above 3000rpm in gear it kind of hits a limiter.
fine when not in gear but sounds pretty tinnie when at high revs.
i've had a fault finder on it but that reports everythings o.k,re-set e.c.u,checked plugs e.t.c .
any ideas??
cars a 1.6 16v by the way.

engine light come on??
could be crank sensor or summin goin down
fault reader should of told u summin tho

management light aint on,so didn't expect a fault to show up.

ring vaux or summin ...get there opinion ......sounds weird .. dont take it to vaux if u can help it tho lol

spose it could be map sensor ... think its next to your water bottle 3 wires comin outa it .. if u wanna borrow jks or summin to try it lol?? u aint put diesel in it or summin stupid av u?

Isn't there a safe mode the ECU kicks into when there is a problem? Perhaps what ever is wrong with it is preventing a fault code showing up ? (strange  )

i replaced some bits on the car yesterday that i thought were causing the problem,and then re-set the e.c.u so i thought this should've cleared it??

 @ myles. defs not put diesel in it.
don't really want to ake it to vaux to be honest,i'll just get it on take it to a garage with a diagnostic tester.

ur better off taking it to a auto electrician for more diagnostics
