I took a load of photos over the weekend at my mates Stag Do but then my camera decided to die on me. I get an error on the camera which reads 'Card Error', and then get prompted to Format the card.

So I thought I'd try it on my Laptop card reader. Stuck it in, went to open the drive thu My Computer, but Vista tells me the card needs formatting before I can use it.

Are my photos gone forever?
