I got the new iphone in the first week it came out in Jul 2008, that means my upgrade is due in Dec 09.
Do you recon they will offer me the 3G S for free?
Im tempten to get a Blackburry, but i think the iphone may win the battle again!

You'll most likely not get any special deal.
People who buy iphones will blindly pay whatever it costs.

Nope no offers going. They don't need to when they have sold like hotcakes. You will have to pay as much as any other punter out there unfortunately. Bear in mind that you will then be bound for another 18 months. If I were you I would just wait for the iPhone 4G? 6 months later.

If there is, it'll probably be another disappointment with no real new features and just a lot of hype

yeh well when u have had an iphone from launch you would see the 3gs is a completely different phone to use , but if u just read things in magazines etc then that is the common answer

fair enough.
I found no real change from the 2g to 3g but a massive difference in speed etc to the 3gs, how they should have been from the very start

No they won't, though you'll probably be able to get a good retention deal, take out an expensive phone, flog it and buy the 3GS on PAYG/second hand, will work out cheaper

They will not announce a new iphone until exactly the same time next year, certainly not september.
They'll have some new ipods this month, at exactly the same time as last year.
That link was the 3GS btw.

september is the ipod refresh but not iphone. Certain apple products tend to get upgraded at the same time every year - iphone has already been done in the shape of the 3GS
