Hi,
I'm having problems with my 1999 1.2 16v Corsa. Its ok when driving really really easy, but anytime I give full throttle, it will hesitate and then accelerate very slowly, with less power than it should have.
I have replaced the air flow meter and changed the spark plugs.
Would an EGR valve cause these symtomns? My EGR valve/temp sensor both look brand new though?
Can anyone help me?
Thanks

I have had a few air flow meters in it and it still the same. Had one from a 1.2 16v corsa C in (which I know is working 100%), and currently have a 1.0 Corsa B one in it. It runs the same on both. Which leads me to believe its not the problem.
There is no engine management light showing, (I know the light works as it was on previously).
I had been thinking about fuel filter etc (which I am replacing), but its like its electrical as it dips down a little and just feels slow. Revs freely when not under load.

This is a common fault on these engines mate.
Can you do me a favour? Unplug your lambda sensor... its in the middle of the engine bay behind the bumper, and goes into the cat after the exhaust manifold.
Your engine management light will come on until you plug it back in..... but take it for a drive with it unplugged. It will do no damage at all - see if it makes a difference?

Thanks Richie, I'm going out tonight for an hour or two so I will try it then and see if it makes a difference.
