I’m looking for some software to send SMS to groups and wondered if anyone has used anything similar?
The idea is that I create groups of people (department A, department b etc) and would like to send that department an SMS.
Whilst I know this could be achieve on a mobile phone, does anyone know of any software / easy way to achieve this on a PC?

I know software is available, but I was wondering if anyone has used anything in particular that they might recommend.
Ive often seen posts about SMS systems in here.

There are plenty of companies around that offer PC Software to send SMS's, but it can be fairly costly (5-12p per SMS).
Alternatively you build your own application and use a GSM/GPRS modem (or mobile phone with serial support) as the SMS Gateway (more about it >HERE<), the AT Commands side is pretty straight forward.

You can do it on any Nokia or Sony Ericsson phone.
