just cleaned my engine and its pretty clean, only thing is the cover that says ecotec is looking past its ages, and i noticed on the opening page on this website a nice colour coded 1, does it require speacial paint? advice plz ppl.

Heat resistant paint shall do the job.

done mine in plastic primer,then used normal car spray tins from halfords,its still mint after 18months

Hey matey

I sanded it down really well using water and wet/dry sandpaper (until the silver actually came off and it was all black). I then used plastic primer and engine enamel. Came up awesome!

did you just cover the graphics saying ECOTEC when spraying it?
does the cover serve any real purpose or is it just good to look at?

yeh how did you keep the text on it. Surely just masking it off would make it all jagged on the edges
Want to do this to mine, but I wanna keep the Vauxhall lettering on it.

If ur gonna spray it you wont b able to.

Mine are just stickers i got made up. Got 2 sets for £5. Local sticker shop.

Daimos is a 1.4 16v

Daimo...wat make is ur strut brace??? coz i ad a sparco one...(sold it tochrisa) but since iv ad my Velos Torque Tube fitted it wouldnt fit...so iv ordered an E-Tec one as they r ment to go over the rocer cover hopefully giving me enough clearence! but il av to wait and see.

ausie gsi...ur engine bay looks like its just come out of the factory...no its even cleaner/more shiney!
