can a leak in the exhaust manifold cause the engine to misfire at low revs and rev high/cut out occasionally when in neutral?

nah mate, misfire is normally fueling/airing issue, high revs and cutting out could be ICV.

take it to a garage, get dianostics test done and find out what the problem is, you're gonna just replaced sensors and parts till you go fucking mental.
p.s a car can run without an exhaust, deffo ain't that.
Lamba normally causes bad emissions and an EML to come on.
Before you go changing more sensors, spray all you're air lines with wd40, see if any air bubbles come up. may be an airleak or something as simple as that.
