Doing this tomorrow to allow a little extra clearance, how much have you taken off and how easy was it to do? I have never used a grinder before so bit worried about getting a decent edge.
Also how much could i get away with taking of, and still managing to bond the middle bit of the arch on? I not removing all bolts as want easy access to bumper.

Cheers!

why do you want to grind away your arch to fit big wheels or becsuse you want to lower it saverly..

Personaly i wouldn't bother its just going to rust like a bitch..
But if you must, just remove the lip on the inside of the arch as then you can still bolt things on and mot testers dont get shitty if it doesn't have an arch trim..

i trimmed up to the arch holes so i could still bolt the arched on, oh and i used a pair of tin snips as i was worried the sparks from the grinder would damage my paint

Haha, not I don't have some massive wheels I have 15's and even though they are ET49, the wheel catches the arch at the front, i have sanded down and removed all bolts, Its still catching, and front it only down 40mm

185/55/15 On the fronts, I know ideally would want 45/15.

Although I think problem is down to shocks aswell, as they are knackered, so car is way to bouncy hence scraping more

If your going to do it... bend the metal round and cut just under the holes so you can bolt the arches back on, the arches are a right twat to get off sometimes though. Also paint the tip with some hammerite after uve cut it.

I used a dremel to do mine, done a good job of it but i wish i hadnt done it now tbh!

Also the sparks will damage the paint, makes it rough etc, i found this out the hard way.
