To start off i know im most probably going to get replies along the lines of 'its your own fault' etc
Basically, i decided i wanted to change the housing/casing on my iphone, changed it all no problems but now the phone is fubarred, wont get any signal and theres no sound anymore and so on.
This was the other month and i stopped using it obviously because i couldnt and have been using a friends LG since so i could still use my sim card(contract).
I rang up this morning to claim on my insurance for a new handset and told them it was lost(if i had to send them the phone it would have void the warrenty with changing the casing etc), but o2 have declined my claim and wont replace the phone Its only about 4 months old so im gutted.
They declined the claim on the grounds that i have been using my sim card in the LG for ages and the iphone hasnt been being used.
The only options they gave me were to appeal against the decision or buy a new handset which we all know iphones arnt cheap.
Does anyone think there's any chance of me getting the decision overturned? and how could i word the appeal?
cheers for any help

I can't see it, they obviously know you have been using the sim so can prove that you haven't lost it. You are trying to con them and they know it so I doubt you will change their mind.

ah shit I never thought of that lol
Could say you didnt like the iphone so used a spare phone although now I think about it does seem unlikely that they will see this,
Sell the iphone as faulty on ebay?

Try taking it to a stall on the market who do repairs or to a phone shop.
But its your own fault for trying to pull a fast one so expect to have to shell some cash out imo.

you cannot say the phone is stolen, why didnt you just say you dropped it and it broke? if it was stolen you would not have your sim and would be asking for a new sim as well!
Shot your self in the foot, get used the the LG as its what you are stuck with now

I told them i lost it last night which was when i last used my sim, i know iv fucked myself over but ill still try and appeal somehow even though i probably wont get anywhere. I should have claimed as soon as i broke it but didnt have the cash to pay the excess at the time. I might try taking it to a phone repairer and see if they can sort it somehow.

Pretty sure they can find out what phone your sim card has been used in lately. They knew my girlf was using my old k800i even though she was on a blackberry contract.

Im sorry but you've rang them up and told its been stolen / lost so now you have a phone which could possibly have been fixed by someone like Munchie but will now probably get locked / barred forever
I know its not helpful but it is kinda your own fault
