hi all.

I have heard that it is possible to fit the "small block" F16 gearbox from the Gsi to the C20XE block.

Obviously i will lose top end but there is no point in having anything that goes faster than 70mph in the UK(!)

I want to build the car to accelerate!

The small amount of information i have managed to find related to putting the flywheel off the Gsi on to the C20XE engine.

can anyone who has put an F16 corsa Gsi box on a C20XE tell me what (if anything) you had to do to make it work?

I have the F20 that came with the C20XE still so i can rape any parts required.

F16 is a bigblock gearbox and not found in a corsa gsi

Just use the F20 mate with MK111 astra inner cv`s, GSI shafts and outer cv`s.

I have everything to put the F20 in.. i have taken it out of another corsa! Just trying to find a way to make it accelerate quicker without going down the route of big engine mods

if you want it to accelerate quicker then throw a lightened flywheel on it and do some striping of the crappy sound deadening

I was debating a lightened flywheel as it happens.... the pot type that is on it is HEAVY plus i like the sound of an engine that is revved and returns to its idle in less than 10 seconds!
do they make that much of a difference?

If you want it to accelerate quicker then get an F16 cr, it will bolt on with no mods

get an f13 like my mine :L, 5th gets a bit winey tho. never poped a driveshaft yet either
