are they not stamped by where the gearbox bolts to the block on these?

On the front, where the gearbox meets the engine.. Use chalk to make it show up.

its written upwards on the very edge of the block where it meets the gearbox, literally on the thin piece of block that the gearbox is bolted to..

The slightest bit of grime hides it.

It should be just about where the bottom arrow is. Just clean it all under there and it'll be somewhere.

sweet, finally done, colour is ok had a crash the other day though, so got some damage, that slam panel been damaged since got car, have a new one and when insurance pays out, should get it fitted

if you give them engine number, they should know it. It's a 1.4 16v isnt it?

gsi = c16xe
sport = x16xe

so if they ask, you have the engine code as well but i don't think they will, when you order parts, usually they just ask for your reg plate and find the parts like that
