I've got 17's on my 1.4 SRi and to be honest i can't really tell any perfromance difference even though everyone says it slower should be slower. Just wondering why it is they are meant to

Bigger wheels means slower acceleration, but you gain a slight increase in top end speed.
I think?

StuartGee hit the nail on the head
wheelspin is caused by people who cant drive!

yes but when my car reaches 4000 rpm it looses grip cos there is too much torque, my car runs more torque than a standard 2l 16v.
i know how to pull off without spinning the wheels.

I stuck 16's on my 1.2 8v and noticed quite a bit of difference. With the 13's on it wouldn't slow down much up motorway hills, if I was doing 90 it would drop to maybe 85. Now it drops to 70-75mph up some hills right down from 90!
