Is it simply a case of paying up your remaining line rental? Or do they throw a load of other charges your way?

I would ring and ask, but 3 are generally useless when it comes to answering questions.

So you can't just pay up your remaining line rental?

with Voda you can just ring up and pay the remaining Line Rental for the remainder of your contract.

Basically so they can get their money !

make sure you change to the lowest monthly plan available before stating you want to pay the remainder off though

You have to pay whatever you would over the remaining course of the contract, I've never come accross a cancelations fee or anything like that with any of the other 4 networks I've been on, but 3 are cunts so may try and charge. It's unlikely though!
Just ring and ask for cancelations, they may offer you bits and bobs to stay or might just do it on the spot
