Please god how do you do this, I've spent the past hour or so putting people into the phone and the option was there to start with to have first name first now I can't find it.

Help me please.

Settings > Phone.

Under "Contacts":

You can change both Sort and Display order.

Go to:

Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calender

Scroll down to Contacts, hit Sort Order and then select First, Last
