I've just checked my oil and it's really low, possibly even too low, so when going to top it up just took off the cap and there's a creamy yellow 'paste' all around the cap and hole where the oil is poured! WTF is it!?!? It looks like butter! I decided not put any oil in :/
this ain't normal is it!? Never seen that before and had the car 2 years!
Looks like a trip up the garage next week :-(
any ideas on what it is people?
Thanks in advance

sure its not more like a mayo substance? Could be a sign of Head gasket failure. Or could just be condensation. Would get it t a garage asap for a compression test, if you catch a HG early then its a lot cheaper to fix than having to reskim the head etc

give the car a good blast, this will either fix it or break it

perfect reply he's completly right.
headgasket ain't too bad, a headskim will only be 30-40 bucks. i reckon it's condo, and if your engine is LOW on oil, top it up...it fucks the engine being too low, can ruin oil pumps etc too.
