I have my 3GS that I registered with apple on my laptop to update, sync etc. through iTunes just wondered if it'll cause any problems if I plug my girlfriends 3G in cos she's never updated it? Will it work having 2 different phones using iTunes (obviously not at the same time) or will it not have it?

Yup, iTunes will allow a number of iPhones/iPods to be connected

Brill.
Not bothered about the music or anything like that. It wont turn on so thought I'd try plugging it in to iTunes for a start and see what happens or if I can reset it through that.

Yeah I got it to reset at lunchtime by doing that and it works again now. The software still needs updating though so will do that at the weekend.
