Having looked round a show home recently, i noticed one of the walls was painted, but it had a brushed effect. I cannot find a pic anywhere, but im sure someone will know what i mean.
Basically, the whole wall was made up of brush marks, but everywhere, all different angles etc etc.
Help :/

think you are on about colour wash.
It a coloured base, normally slightly lighter than the top colour, then its painted over with the top coat of emulsion glaze paint, that then looks like it's not covered properly and you see all the brush marks..... ie: Colour Wash.

nip into a Waterstone's book shop today and look for Kevin McCloud*s Complete Book of Paint and Decorative Techniques , or Annie Sloan's Complete Book of Decorative Paint Finishes: A Step-By-Step Guide to Mastering Painting Techniqes for the Home.
any of these books will show you what you're after and how to do it

I think I know what you mean aswell,if its what I'm thinking of its a leather style finish although I suppose could be done to look metallic.
My mate had this done on his bedroom wall,I can't remember the process exactly but I think paint is mixed in with a special type of plaster, its put on the wall, rubbed down, another layer put on etc and is then buffed or polished till slightly shiny?
I could be very wrong, someone else will know more about it then me but thats my input lol.Hope this helps.
