Previously when I opened a new tab it would come up with my most used sites and recent bookmarks, but recently It just comes up telling me ive opened a new tab How do I get the tabbed browsing back?

Tools > Internet Options > Tabbed Browsing Settings

If you can't find the right setting reset internet explorer....

Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Reset.

If it's a generic setting then it will restore it once you have re-opened IE.

Use Firefox / Chrome. Both have better features to bring your favourites up.
