I have been waiting FOREVER for the HTC Desire to come in stock and have had so many useless idiots give different bits of info. Not one of them seems to have a damn clue what they are talking about and I'd much rather they said that than spew utter nonsense at me. And I refuse to pay to upgrade in store when I can get it for free online or if i take out a new contract with anyone else. Now, evidently, it's in stock for new customers, so can someone tell me if I can cancel my contract? It's up in August, do I have to wait until then?

You can cancel whenever you want, you'll just have to pay the remainder.

I had done the same with Phone4U, they don't have a desire in stock for me though and didn't bother telling me until after I was supposed to have it so went elsewhere.

That's a cheap phone on an expensive contract, even with the £350 cashback that's an alright deal at best.

It's about £100 payg, on a £35 a month contract you can get something like an htc desire which costs about 4x as much.

So even though £350 cashback looks really good at first glance it's not over the length on the contract.

From a quick look you can get the 5230 for a fiver a month with some deals, which is £90 over 18 months, with the same minutes and texts.

Finally managed to get hold of one, two months after I started trying and being told twice I was on a back order when I wasn't!

I managed to get handset for free with 600 mins, unlimited texts and unlimited internet for £30 a month. Not too bad I reckon.

Comparing a £400 phone to a £140+million jet fighter?? What a stupid comment to make...

I think he's making the point that what may not be complicated to one person, may be very complicated to another, for example, me, who is not used to gadgets and gizmos like you lads are! So its a bit daft to tell me its not complicated simply because in your eyes it isn't.
