What is the best way to paint a radiator?

I've got a tin of Dulux Satinwood we've used on the whitework etc. Will the finish still be decent if I used it on a rad? It's off the wall at the moment so easy to work on.

What other methods are there?

Personally I don't bother with rad paint, its awful to work with. Just use emulsion (seriously). It looks fine and doesnt peel / discolour.

Rad paint is awful to work with. I tried various brands at my old place. Ended up replacing rads when decorating each room.

How big is the rad?. I'd rather buy a new one than start painting them tbh. Slippery slope, finish never looks as good and you'll have to keep doing it.

oil based undercoat and gloss or even the satinwood your using would be ok aslong as you sand the radiator down before undercoating! in my time of being a painter i've never had flakey paint on a rad yet

an a common mistake is turning the heating on to set the paint quicker! DON'T do that let it set in its own time 16>20hours and then turn the heating on hope that helps mate

if you use satinwood or eggshell remember it's self undercoating... ie: two coats of eggshell/satinwood..... not an undercoat then eggshell/satinwood.
