my cooling fan,the car originally had air con now iv blanked all that off and fitted a non air con radiator and fan assembly the motors plugged in and the temp sensor plug on the radiator is plugd in does anyone have any idea if there something i need to do or is it a dodgy fan? many thanks lee

Take it has enough oil in it as it may be the lifters and new oil?
Test the fan direct to battery.

yeah got enough oil the tapping seems to have gone now its been running for longer must have just needed ciculating,iv tested the fan directly form the battery and it works fine so could it be the rad switch? many thanks lee

Take the plug off the fan switch. Bridge the 2 terminal. (Unless its a 3pin) if the fan spins its a fan switch you need. If not it will be somethin else. Fuse, broke wire etc

hi mate i did that run upto temperature and it still dont kick in it does have that 3 pin switch also aswell as the 2 pin switch due to it used to having air con what should i do now?

might be a silly question but you defo using the right switch and connector ? as ive took my air con out. are you using the 2 pin plug or the 3 pin ?

the 2 pin plug mate,did you have this problem? could you tell me exactly what you have done wiring fan wise to get yours to work thanks lee

you might have air in the system somewhere which may be blocking the heat to the switch thats what happened on mine

ok um you mights have a faulty fan switch then as i havent changed my wiring at all what temp did you let the car get to ??

well i swapped the one off my air con rad onto it and that didnt work and i also swapped it off a mates old radiator and same again im letting it get to the white line just before the red mark about 3/4 round the gauge? when does yours kick in? thanks mate

mine dont kick in til 102 which is just past the white line and make sure the system is completely bleed up too. with the heater fans on hot and on highest fan speed with the bottle cap off

thanks mate ah i see well il run it up and let it get to that point and see what happens iv maybe not been letting it run hot enough,yeah il do taht thanks mate il let you knwo how i get on

should it be getting a permanent live then kick in when the fan switch tells it to? just i checked its earthed fine but not getting power

Same thign happened to mine when done same conversion, tried so many things bit the bullet and wired in my own switch
