just got one, great phone! but what were can i download apps from the htc site seems ok but not great. any tips on these phones as its my 1st smart phone!

yes its less capacity than the desire, but the new gpu and processor are more battery efficient, so in theory is was meant to be about the same due to the less power drain from components.
i usually get a day out of mine with decent usage, its still not great but not to bad.

iam looking to get this phone in Feb when iam due my upgrade. would you guys recommend it?

One word of advice, go in Settings>Development> and turn on USB Debugging. There's a weird software problem at the moment where the CPU goes to 100%, making the phone lag like a bitch randomly, and it eats the battery at the same time. I had this a couple of days after getting the phone, couldn't work out why it lagged so bad, but now it's smooth as butter all the time.
Battery life is average at best! Although it goes further now I've disabled all the shit I don't need to sync every 30 minutes etc!

I don't trust Samsung anymore.
I used to fanboi them because I like my big telly..... but:
this Samsung Tocco Ultra's camera stopped working and now the speaker has given up too after about 18months.
and my telly's main board needed replacing because the wrong caps were fitted.

I was looking at this case yesterday. I read one review that said it was too tight?
Would the phone fit in it with a skin type case on it?
There's also the other case (S510) for the touch HD which I like:
