LCD over plasma for me, wouldn't be basing the decision on 'refresh rates'.

I myself would go for Plasma over LCD.
But if you have the chance then 3D is a deffo.

The 'refresh' rate (ie: 'hz') they state can pretty much mean anything, panels native refresh, image processing clock, or a number of other image processes (inject black frames, phosphor flashes per refresh cycle etc). So you can't compare screens based on this!
And as john said, it's LED backlit LCD.
You got some model numbers?

I've got a 100hz LED backlit TV and it's never been above 60Hz. That's from Blurays and loads of Xbox/PS3 action. Most of the time it's been at 50Hz. It's a feature that wouldn't be top of my list tbh.

I think that LG might be the one, I dont want to have to add £200 for a 3d tv? Do I? Worth the extra?

3D TV is far from perfected. I'd go with a better normal tv mate.
