I had a K&N and that was shit so I drilled my std air filter which was miles better than the K&N, now I have a pipercross induction and it's really good sound and cuts a few of the flats spots out.

difference is that K&N make specific kits for specific models, so you may well find a K&N for a 1.2 16v is smaller than that for a GSI/Sport
where as PiperX are all the same size
the 12v sounds better cause its only got 3 cylinders!
if you wanna see just how loud your car can be then take your induction kit off completly & drive round the block, this is the loudest noise you will possibly get.
dont drive for too long though as you have no filter & therefore may suck up some shít

Drill the airbox and put an K&N element in it. Louder than my previous piperX induction Kit, which seemed to get to hot, thats why I drilled the airbox.
The piperX also destroyed the cars already crap torque, below 3000rpm ther was even less power than standard. The drilled airbox is defo the way to go.
