Ever since we replaced the toner cartridge in our laser printer there are small toner smudges on the left hand side of each sheet printed out.
I'm not an expert on these things but it looks like the problem might be related to the drum, as the smudges are consistent down the page if that makes sense.
Is it easy to clean the drum or do I buy a new drum?
I've cleaned the corona wire or whatever it's called several times but it hasn't made any difference.

Does any more smudge when its printed? wipe it and see.

It's a Brother HL-2030.
Just did a test page print, doesn't smudge any further when I wipe it (so the fuser is OK I am guessing)?

not necessarly, it could be either the duplex or imaging drum at fault

experience tells me that its usually no genuine toners that cause this
