For anyone else also keen, a leaked version of Windows 8 (6.1.7850.0.winmain_win8m1.100922-1508_x86fre_client-enterprise_en-us) is available if you know where to look.

Looking forward to running this within a virtual machine.

On a side note, Microsoft have released Internet Explorer 10 for preview download

Is 8 just a refresh of 7 or have they done a complete overhaul of it?

Edit - Ok just Google'd, it appears to be a refresh and visually it looks near enough the same as 7; but apparently it's quicker to install, repair and wake up from sleep. Oooo goody

Yes, quite a few noticable changes, inc the microsoft app store (although I wouldnt expect to see it in this build).

Allegedly Win8 and IE10 run amazingly on a dog old slow PC.

Fast windows in an ipad format with a decent battery life and at least 720p would probably be amazing.

Would be good with some form of touch-enabled GUI, a bit like current tabs. I'm not a fan of touch screens and start menus, though I think MS are working hard on the implementation of touch screens. Look forward to seeing what happens.

I'd still need a desktop and a laptop, if I need to actually get anything done instead of just browsing on here I get very quickly frustrated without a mouse and keyboard.

I'd like to see the day when XP and Vista are about as well used as 95/98/2000/ME is nowadays.
