Hi mate,

I'm looking for some sort of service where people can subscribe to a SMS mailing list by sending a keyword to a number, does anyone know of this sort of service?

Essentially I want to text our walk in customers when we have a sale on and special offers - I've been thinking about putting cards out in the shop where they can write down their mobile number and put it in a little box - we would then have to process all the data onto a spreadsheet which I would then import into some bulk sms service but surely they could just text 'LOLZ' to a short number and add themselfs onto it?

Any information, experiences, or questions are welcome

One of the companies we deal with at work has software that does that type of thing...

http://www.orbis-software.com/products/output-send-sms.php

That link is for outgoing SMS but I think they've developed incoming as well.

Basically an event (email sent in / SMS sent in etc) triggers a 'task', which can then do any number of things - in your case extract the number of the incoming text, then insert it to a table in your db / save it to an excel file.

No idea of cost etc, could potentially be quite expensive. Just throwing it out there.

Yeah I dont really want to get too involved with the technical side on this one, I'm happy to pay a GOOD firm to provide me the service and a interface to mass sms my mailing list.
