Decided i'm going to wall mount my TV in the near future, think it'll make to room look a lot better than it does at moment. Had a little play in paint (dont take the piss I know its rubbish but you get the idea) and should like the below:
Only thing I dont like however is the mass amount of just wall space to the left of the TV, looks a bit boring and "lost" if you know what I mean. First though was to put some shelving up, a picture or someting, but then I stumbled on a load of pictures on Google where the TV has been wall mounted and the a "frame built around it to enclose the TV, so thought about doing something similar and knocked up this: (again, shite I know but its to give a rough idea) Not a finished design but I do kinda like the look of it.
Now, 2 things;
Do you think the "enclosure" idea is a good one, and if so, what do you think of the very rough design or do you think something else would look better. Bear in mind I have limited DIY skills (did think of a full floating wall but after looking into costs/difficulty i've decided to give is swerve)
If you dont think its a good idea, any other ideas you can think of to go in the blank space. Had a look on Google for "Funky Shelves" and there is a fair few decent (but expensive!!) shelving designs. Like the look of something random like this
Would have Red behind it though to match the colours of the room)
or something a bit more simple like this
(Arranged differently though not all straight like that)
A a bit of a loss so any ideas/input would be great
P.S - The current AV Units will be staying but i'll probably be getting some doors so you wont be able to see all the stuff inside like you can now.

I studded mine out ala.....
.....but my wall is a lot shorter than yours so less material. You could do it taller and deeper to create a false chimney stack though?
Personally I'm not keen on the enclosure, bit complex and I like symmetry

There's load of options for the enclosure in Ikea.
We've got this set up, cost £400ish But they have pretty much the exact layout that you've posted above that you could put together

I did a floating wall.
Mine was a timber frame with MDF, and Duralite rope light.

That looks bang on Nisno.
How much was all rthe stuff if you dont mind me asking?
Doesn't look too difficult either which is good. Only thing i'm concerned about is that I dont think its a proper brick wall, sounds like its a dividing wall made from plaster board and i'm not sure it'll hold all the weight ???

Npt really sure how much it cost, the timber was just soft swan stuff from the local DIY place, 3 sheets of MDF was about £40, tv bracket about £25, the rope light was about £2 per meter, then just some filler for the counter sunk screws and some MDF primer and paint.
You should have a soft block under the stud, would hold it fine using proper fixings, cant see it being a problem myself.

Dont like all those units at the bottom, too many of them and too chunky.
Something like Nismos looks much nicer and neater too IMO.

Cheers, I was going to but then it crossed my mind that if you ever change the tv then the whole would never be right again, i sunk the bracket in so the back of the tv is flush with the false wall

I reckon it would have been worth redoing the front of the wall if you changed the tv for the effect of having it sunk in there properly.. still looks good though.

I don't really get them?
I mean Nismo's looks good, but surely they're just losing space in their room?
