Cant get the passenger side off seems really awkward compared to the driver side
Any other ways to get them off than just the spanner and a alan key?

Remove the strut from the car and try and get the damper shaft in a vice, wrap it in a rag so you don't mark the shiny bit, should give more room to swing on it with something bigger.

I cut an alan key so it was just a straight hex bit, put it into a socket, gave plenty of leverage that way.

When i lowered my neighbours b last week, i had this problem.
I used a ring spanner and a large screwdriver underneath the bolt applying pressure.
The above worked for a bit.
In the end i ended up jacking the car up, letting the strut hang on the top mount. It then spun off freely.
