Do you need a header tank to run a redtop? may sound silly or stupid but can i just run it via the normal rad system with the tank with cap?

What radiator are you gonna use? Yes you'll need a header tank. Why don't you want to fit one?

what you could do is get a old school vw radiator which has a top fill, all the vw euro lads use them in golfs and caddys jettas etc so they can have a smooth engine bay.

Just use your existing header tank. You don't need the 1 from the donor car.
