Ill be jetting off to start work in norway at the start of next month, id like a way to keep in touch with my son and family.

Anyone know of anything thats good and reliable? how good is skype?

If you want audio/video chats then as long as you have an OK broadband connection Skype is your best bet, and free.

Skype is great, mrs uses it frequently to talk to her brother in Australia.

Another +1 for Skype here, girl at work talks to her parents back in Brazil all the time on her phone's internet and via a 3G dongle on her laptop
