My TV only has 2 x HD ports, which are taken up by my DVD Player and SkyHD.
Just set my X-Box up using the 3 prong thingy and its like i've gone blind, looks proper blury now 
Is there any device that can give you extra HD ports, or am I going to have to swap and change depending on what I want to have on?

As Adi said, HDMI switcher is what you need. Although you could also use the XBox component or VGA cable which will do HD.

unplug DVD player and use eggbox as DVD player
