My mum has a 2002 Civic 1.4 that bogs down (no power) when pulling away, but it only happens when the ambient temperature drops. It's been fine all summer but just recently has started doing it again. It happened last winter too and when the garage had it for a service they cleaned the throttle body, which helped slightly, but not for long.

Any ideas what could be going on? Cheers.

Are you talking just cold or below zero cold?

Just cold, Alan. It's only been doing it recently since the temp has been below 12C or so.

Jed - probably is the same engine. It's obviously not a unique problem then so hopefully there will be other posts about it online somewhere.

Only thing I could suggest would be the coolant temp sensor or the air temp sensor, if it has either

Not sure, we don't have a Haynes for it either. Not sure where else I'd go to find that sort of thing out.
