I cant actually believe ive finally taken the plunge and bought my first house
Its a 2 bed semi bungalow with 2 dormas. Quite small but will be fine for me the missis and the cat .
Here are some pics
And the most important part
So far we have given the kitchen and bathroom a massive clean, tomorow i plan on starting to paint the living room and removing the wall paper in the back room. Were going to paint it ivory white for now just as a base so we can decide what we want to do later

that bath seat
plug on the bathroom sink doesnt work
shower screen rubber at the bottom needs replacing
light in the roof needs a new bulb
radiator towel rack is leaking so we need to look at that
worktop in kitchen needs bracing
worktop needs a new silicone bead running across it

radiator needs another coat of paint
really thats all that needs doing inthe bathroom and kitchen.. all the other rooms just need a paint.

plans today are to build some more storage space off the bedroom and see how the paper will cover with paint in the living room, if it covers badly im going to have to take the paper off and paint the walls.
In the back room im going to have to remove the paper as its dirty and textured so ill have to get cracking with that also.
Now the kitchen is clean i can start getting all the kitchen stuff put away etc.
I need to tell dreams to deliver my bed.

Paint over paper always looks terrible, you'll be in for a world of pain if the paper brings half the wall off with it though

We decided to try and paint over the paper to see what it looked like, the paper isnt textured so i got 10L of paint for free so i thought it was worth a go..
Here are the pics so far
Living room non textured paper.
Back room, all textured oaper ripped off.
And i dont know who fitted the radiator but damn.. Blind!

our radiator in the bedroom was like that, it had fallen off the bracket at the back.
paint over wallpaper doesnt look too bad tbh, easier than stripping it all.

First job I'd be doing is plastering over the artex before decorating!
Looks a nice place, can't beat having a garage, I plan to extend mine into a double at some point.

I just nipped to the house this morning to do a couple things. First we needed a new cylinder for the front door so we got one and swapped that over, plus.. Who knows who had a copy of the original key..
Next on the agenda was to sort out the worktop so i pulled out the sink, packed it up then moved the units feet until we were back level then re siliconed the worktop in.
I also cleaned up around the sink so we can re-seal it up. You can see whoever put the kitchen in was the same person who did the radiator because nothing is squared.
I then cleaned up the silicon which was under the sink so we could get a good seal again.
I need to go back tonight, give the living room and stairs another coat and then hopefully i can look at the back room.
Toilet needs to come out so i can sort the seat out, it looks like it has captive nuts in the toilet but they are just spinning. Grr! Stupid design!

Today we have ripped the fireplace out so we have somewhere to run the cables for the tele.
We have also given the lounge another coat of paint, hopefully thats its last coat!
We started sanding the back room down now in prep for paint, all the holes etc have been filled so were going to give it a coat of paint tomorrow
