My mate today accidently put washing up liquid in his expansion tank today, only a squirt or 2 in hot water and the tank already had about 50% anti freeze will this damage the car?

Normally use it too flush out the system as it gets oil residue out.

I doubt it'll damage anything but i'd still flush it out and refill with fresh coolant / anti freeze.

Drive it for 50 miles or so then flush it.

How on earth do you "accidentally" do that? Lmao. Did he slip and fall ALL the way from the kitchen, and accidentally open the bonnet at the same time all without realising?

Perhaps he was going for the washer bottle.

I wouldn't think it would do too much damage in that dilution although draining the coolant isn't a massive job and should be done at some point, how old is the car?
