well i have an original 2005 xbox, just replaced the cd drive the other day and realised the xbox has never been repaired, do you think its worth replacing the x-clamp and also put in the revised heat sink? i have both so would be able to do this now? or wait till it gets 3 red lights

edit: mine dosnt have the extra heatsink microsoft added to aid cooling

Don't bother with the XClamp fix, it'll fuck it up in the long term.
Sure its worth adding the extra heatsink though.

Google it. ALOT of horror storys out there about it.
I myself have had a dead Xbox that an XClamp fix broke.

well as my xbox got 3 red lights just after i posted this, i replaced the heat sync and also replaced the xclamp, all working now.
