Hi guys, I brought a Sportex back box off Ebay second hand, went to fit it today and...

1. The pipe from the back of the box seems way too wide for the standard centre pipe if I want a decent air-tight connection.

2. The standard clamp doesn't even fit over the pipe at the back of the box.

Hope you can help. obviously there is a chance that the box is for a different model and the guy that sold me it lied, but the sticker has been taken off and I really really want to fit it.

1.0's have a smaller exhaust bore, so it's obviously from a 1.2 or above.

You could prob get hold of a reducer sleave to make it fit

get it welded. but yes as said the 1.0l have a smaller diameter. 1.2 16v, 1.4 16v and 1.6 16v are all the same i think but im not sure about your 8v's

Yea its definitely not right, the gaps probably too big for putty it would just start blowing after 5 minutes, cheers though. reducer sounds good.

ArdenAndy, did you have to get a bigger clamp, or is that new one the same size as stock?

the clamp is the same size as the one that was on before, only put a new one on because the old one was rotten

even the 8v ones are the same size, its only the 1.0 thats smaller

i sold the sportex off my 1.6 sport to a boy with a 1 litre , it went on no bother at all , think he mibi used a reducer tho
