Just double checking my piston rings need replacing, water is slowly passing through them. Not at 100 mph but it's still passing through all 4 cylinders. Does this mean the rings are damaged?

Water shouldn't pass through them?

Do you mean oil?

No it's defo water, was full of water when I took the head off. Maybe the system wasn't fully drained when I took the head off?

Can indicate head gasket if water is getting in to the chambers.

Piston rings maintain the seal between the sump and the chambers, neither of which should have water in.

if you have the head off take a picture of the headgasket or have a look at it yourself to see if it looks like its been leaking anywhere

It will drain through, it's not a water tight seal. Why are you putting water in your cylinders? :S

as above lol, there should be no water in the pistons, it stays in the water jacket!

Ah, makes sense now! In which case no, it's not a problem, dry them out and soak in wd-40 to stop any rusting while it's apart.
