Started up my GSi this morning everything seemed ok, sat a at a set of lights at it was idling at just over 2k.
Car seems to runs and drive fine, just idles between 1800 and 2k
Any idea's??

idle control valve, throttle position sensor
next time its idling high open the bonnet and unplug the ICV and plug it back in again, also do the same to the TPS, when mine used to do it it was the TPS as when i unplugged it the revs went down to what they should be, should help you narrow it down

check the throttle cable, mine had moved slightly so wasn't fully returning and was idleing high. ive got a couple of spare icv's and tps's that i know work if need be

isn't the icv the part that most people say when it's broke, buy a new one, but you can in fact, clean it all out and reassemble it? unless it's fucked of course lol
