Any benifit from fitting one to a XE? My engine came with one but no sandwich plate but is it worth sourcing one to fit it?

Just normal day to day driving & possy and the odd blast.Wouldn't be bouncing off the limiter all the time like most do.

Not got one on mine either and that's used daily, it's not been bounced off the limiter once since I've owned it

I just fitted mine as it came with engine I thought it served a purpose which I think it does.

I know alot of people run them without but that's there option.

I suppose it is less hasstle without one.

Don't think it overly matters whether you do or not, a few came standard without them so it's not life or death with or without

The reason i didnt fit one is if the cooler was fitted to a engine that has suffered bearing failure it will have metal fillings in so would only bother fitting a brand new one

I take the view its fitted for a reason. I thought all xe's had them? End of the day you will give it some stick wont you so surely having more oil running through the engine is a good thing? Its not in the way and its easy to fit so id get it on there

That did cross my mind that they were factory fitted for a reason.

I have plenty time to have a think about it so will just see how things go up until then.
