Is it true that you can clean up rusty bolts by leaving them soaking in Cola or is it just a wind up?

i left as load of stuff in cola over night and then gave it a quick wipe, came up good considering

I've tried Cola in the past and it was useless. Vinegar works lots better after soaking them for the few days. You could always look at electrolysis.

someone on here used asda smart price vinegar to clean a load off stuff, came up nice considering the method lol

I used Morrisons vinegar. It used to be about 15-20p for about 1/2 litre.

I've seen what cola does to teeth after 24H, can't see it doing good to rusty bolts.

I'd just buy new bolts or have them polished

Coke does virtually nothing to teeth, certainly not in 24 hours.

It will have some effect at removing rust but nothing like as much as a proper rust remover.

Have you not seen Brainiac? A tooth soaked in a glass of cola for 24 hours turned black and slightly shrivelled in size.
