evening,

I'm at a bit of a loss here I have a heap of woodwork to strip and the 'new' green nitromorse is utter gash. It doesnt seem to work at all compared to the old

why has it changed?

Any hints on what to buy/use to strip off paint/varnish?

Look up the stuff used to strip paint around asbestos as you can't needle gun or blast it. It turns blue and just falls off, just like nitromorse but more like a paste going on. I will try and find out tomo for you of you want, we used to use it on the boats all the time.

The current Nitormors is crap as the EU banned methylene chloride which was the key ingredient that actually stripped the paint.

Before they banned it alot of trade merchants stocked up on it, so it can be found with a bit of digging around, but im yet to find any

I need to strip 3 coats of paint and varnish from the stairs but looking to be heat gun and sander is my only option.

It was more to make a point to Ian that something on his site is converting links incorrectly in some cases. I know I could obviously copy and paste the link...

The Green can is water washable, but if you wash off with water that's too hot it reacts with the stripper and gives of Phosgene gas (Mustard Gas), so be careful.

Thing is paint stripper is messy, time consuming and you have neutralise the wood once you've stripped it down.

bunring off is quicker and easier if you know what you're doing.
