When i removed my pistons i stamped a number in the top and lined the big end caps up in order however Today i went to put my pistons in and they had been knocked over! I cant see any marks on them, does anyone know if it matters which cap goes on which rod?

Any help would be appreciated because im panicing now. Lol.

Yes it does, the caps are matched to the rods

Is there any way of telling which goes to which? Weight or anything?

i had to take mine to a machine shop to get checked. as the person who 'rebuilt' it before me mixed them up

Ive just noticed they have numbers on. Two say 18, two say 8, two say 7 but then one says 17 and one says 12. Is this the number to match em or just a manufacturing number?

If you try and match them up to each other, you might be able to tell by just looking at them.

Heres the pic showing the numbers (number 7) is this the number to match the rod to the cap? If so why does one of my rods not match and is this a problem?

those numbers will just be the casting/batch numbers and nothing to do with which cap fits which rod. try them all and see which ones fit best on which rod or to be 100% take them into a machine shop and get them matched up as already said.
