Ordered my doors today,
Got a nice PVC stable door for the back and a gorgeous PVC front door for 1200 fitted so I'm quite happy with that

There is so much money to be made fitting PVC doors and windows, just a shame there are so many people at it.

I didn't go for a cylinder lock, they offer their upvc doors with mortice locks like a regular door as the cylinder type locks are apparantly quite easy to get in

I have no idea what they are
All I've paid for is reinforced doors and mortise key slot which operates whatever it operates

On a normal PVC door with a cylinder, like a padlock type key, the cylinder is a major weak point, basically you bray it with a hammer and screwdriver and it snaps, then all you do is flick the mechanism back with the screwdriver and you are in, takes all of about 15 seconds and I've done it myself many times. I've also been to a number of break ins where the burglar has done exactly the same.
The Avocet cylinder introduces a weak point at each end of the cylinder, in effect sacrificing that part but keeping the centre piece that operates the lock intact. Well worth the money IMO.

Ahhh yeah they offered me that where it stops that from happening, he said the same that you can get in within 15 secs on normal locks, they advised at no extra cost for the mortise locks as they're far safer and can't be picked as easily.plus as said it was a free upgrade for January so I'm very happy with what I've bought, will post pics once the doors have been fitted in next few weeks
