That dreaded occasion has arrived I don't have a clue what I want, at all. I've had this 4 for over a year and a half and although it's a plain old thing, the build quality and reliability has been fucking exemplary. The thing stopping me getting a new iPhone (or at least making me think about alternatives) is the finish of people's I've seen, and the fact it's quite dull compared to android (imo).
Are there any phones people can recommend apart from the 5 or the S3? The HTC One X gets fantastic reviews. The Motorola Razr gets surprisingly good ones too; as does the Lumia 920!
As you can see I'm fucking stumped here Only reason I'd change from the 4 is its getting on a bit!

The only reason that I'd stay with Apple in your situation is how it syncs with all other Apple products and software. e.g. iTunes, iCloud etc blaa blaa, which means you'll be starting a complete fresh. Some people like that though.
I reckon if you went for an iPhone 5 you wouldn't feel like you've got a new phone, other than the physical feel.
I have a HTC One S, the baby brother (and arguably better) than the HTC One X and can't rate it enough, although I did go from a Nokia N8. Had it nearly 1 year and seems as fast as when I bought it. HTC customer service is supposed to be shite though and we're almost last to get any Android updates. Which compared to Apple, will drive you insane.
The trouble with this Android lark, is that all my stuff is syncing and backing up to me Google Account, therefore I'm "stuck" if I want to switch to Apple.
Isn't there a new version of the HTC One X out now though?

HTC One X+ doesn't come with charger and you have to buy one.
The reason because people already have a USB charger, hang on if I go from Apple to HTC then I don't have a USB charger for that phone.
How fucking backwards is that?

I ordered on Wednesday when it came back in stock. Delivered Friday, so not 2-3 weeks even though they saw that

Why exactly are you stuck? Exporting contacts isn't an issue and if you need to export email to a new provider then you can transfer it across via pop3 (that's if your new provider allows you to attach other mailboxes).
Transferring between Android and iPhone isn't much of an issue as you can sync between accounts. And i believe you can sync between WP as well.
Files, apps, game/app saves are about your only issue.
Eck - Nexus 4, S3, Lumia 920, One XL or X+, Note 2 (if a 'phablet' is your thing), Xperia Z.....in that order. Really worth having a play with a BB Z10 though as it really is an awesome UI.

I've heard bb10 is great but the apps are pretty shite at the moment? And the screen isn't gorilla glass on the z10 which puts me off a bit. I got the 4 because I head butted my desire and the screen shattered, so I wanted build quality I've dropped my 4 from 4ft + on to concrete and used it for hours in a dirty, dusty factory environment for years and it's been spot on! The thought of a new OS does intrigue me though, hence liking the look of the Lumia.
