I just placed it into a bucket of warm water Mark and then wrapped it keeping it nice and tight on the manifold.

It helps alot using it wet, as said easier to stretch also makes it less itchy, wear gloves.. Trust me on that one

cheers for the advise because that's what i was thinking of doing, just ordered some more, will probably pant it also.
How good is this heat wrap stuff for keeping the heat in? i have some large thick black cable ties i thought of using instead of the metal ones because there not that good imo to get it pulled nice and tigh but think it will still get quite hot and melt them.

it works well but not well enough for plastic ties. im using cv boot stainless steel ties now. cost about £15 for a roll, tie clips and crimping tool from local motor factor.

Quick question on the subject of heat wrap, is it meant to be pretty tight when applied, and stay tight after time??
Previous owner has done the manifold on my car, but damn it feels pretty loose and im not certain its means to be like that.
