Got a dizzy xe in my Corsa, driving along fine, pull up to roundabout, wait, pull away and suddenly soon as it hits 3k it starts popping and banging with the rpm needle bouncing about like its being redlined... Won't go above 3k now! In all gears and in neutral if I just rev it. Any ideas?

Well you`ve obviously gained an engine fault ,electical most likely.Do you have the eml lit if so pin test or obd.
Start with the basics bud like plugs, leads and check the dizzy cap for damage or moisture.

Obviously lol. Yes but it's already lit anyway, don't know why but has been for the last few weeks since I put engine back in. Has ran absolutely fine though with no issues what so ever,up until now.

crank sensor on my old corsa played up only when up to temperature.
Instead of your problem though, it would cut out and refuse to start until cool again.
Sounds possible it's the same sensor

someone else diagnosed it, I just added my bit of experience to the post and said with it only happening when it's hot, could easily be same sensor.
Glad you've fixed it though, a relief isn't it? I had to drive my old corsa from Hull with a faulty crank sensor, would cut out if I let the revs fall below 2k...very tricky to try and rev and brake at the same time
